Flower Garden at Nightfall...

Here are just a few more random pictures of the Flower Garden by our ornamental fish pond at nightfall. This was also taken Tuesday evening... right after the storm blew through. I love all the variety of color.
I had to stand on a chair to get the garden from this angle... You can almost se the fish... I think this is the clearest our little pond has ever been... It might have something to do with Brent's new pet fish... a sucker fish the size of my foreare... I am so not kidding... it's crazy... all it does is eat and eat the scum at the bottom of the pond... it's great! Sometime I'll get Zach to catch it again so I can get a picture of it for you all.... Oh well, work tomorrow so I better go to bed... Brent is sleeping at the Fireworks Tent again tonight... bummer.

One Week Old Already...

Can you believe it??? Little Miss Ashelyn is already a week old today. She is such a good little girl.
Here she is getting ready to stretch.
I loved this little shot of her toes... baby feet are soooo cute... not like adult feet at all.
Sleeping so peacefully.

Tuesday Evening's Crazy Weather...

So Tuesday evenings weather was certainly crazy. (That was the night BJ's and Mark's Firework Tent got hit by Lightning with them in it) Right before the thunderstorms rolled in the Sky was absolutely beautiful. There was so many colors. Someone once told me that was the dust particles that make it so pretty, but whatever, it was awesome.
Then the sky started to go real dark. I liked this shot, you can still see the color and the Tree looks awesome.
Here is where the clouds were really starting to roll in. At this point they were still kinda light and fluffy and really quite pretty.
Dun, dun, dun, dunnnnn, Dun, dun, dun, dunnnnn... and then all heck broke loose... cool shot tho'... about at this point when lightning started going everywhere... I decided maybe I should be inside... instead of standing out in the yard to get the cool shots... maybe a wise choice... don't ya think? Anyway Tuesday evening made for some pretty interesting pictures.... all taken within twenty minutes of one another.

Zach's New Friend...

This is Kiwi... she or he... we're not sure... is a Quaker Parrot... from the Parakeet family... Apparently she or he has joined our family via Zachary... that boy will not take no for an answer when it comes to pets... he just loves animals and doesn't get the whole... you will be moving out of the house soon and we are soooo not going to keep your bird... She or he will make a nice donation to the KC Zoo when Zach is through with loving her or playing with her or caring for her... take your pick.... Any who... a few more shots of Kiwi.
One nice thing to say about Kiwi... not very noisy at this point.
Here Kiwi is eating our of Zach's hands... you can see the blue wing feathers have been clipped. This is supposed to keep Kiwi from flying freely... HA... fat chance... crazy little bird... It's going to hurt it's self yet.

I think I attached a video of Zach trying to train Kiwi...

Ok... this is it... I promise...

Such sweet, tranquil, beautiful babies... I love them both to pieces. ps... fuzzy blanket pics are Gid.

Jake and Misty's Family...

I just had to do this comparison... I know... your thinkin' "we can't even see the babies"... but that's not what I was seeing... Misty and Jacob just keep getting better and better looking... that is just crazy... I think family life is doing it... We sure love them and their sweet babies. ps... pics on the right are Gid's Birth.

Alexander's New Rockin' Do...

So Misty and Alexander decided it would be ok to dye Alex' hair black... so Mom decided Alex got to get a hair cut... this was our compromise... no it doesn't always have bullet spikes... but Alex thought he looked pretty tough... this is his punk do... as opposed to an Emo do... It looks pretty awesome... I like it because you can see his handsome face... not that you can tell by the last picture... oh well... boys will be boys.

Happy to be home...

The Doan family are now reunited and happy to be in their own home. Gideon has been such a good boy while waiting for Mommy, Daddy, & baby Ashelyn to get home. He only gave me one really good scare when he forgot to let go of the rock he was throwing in the ornamental fish pond and threw himself in instead. Good news is grandma walked on water... literally... to grab him out... It scared me more than him. All is well, he didn't seemed phased... glad to be home with fam tho'.

Handsome Men...

Here is a great shot of Brent and the boys with Brent's 91 year old Great Uncle David. Uncle David is Lynn's dad and has just moved back to Kansas City to live with her. Beleave it or not, he is recovering from hip replacement surgery and has done wonderfully. He is so sweet and always has a great story or two to share. The boys really enjoyed their time visiting with him. We will have to make a point of visiting with him and Lynn often.
Here are a few pretty pictures of Lynn's oasis in the city. She works so hard to keep it beautiful. She is my inspiration for making my yard a little nicer. I just have to parcel my time out in little bits and pieces. Every year it improves tho'.
I don't remember how many varieties of Hostas Lynn has but I know it's a bunch. Her entire yard is pretty much shaded so they thrive.
I just thought this made for a neat shot.... had to throw it in as well. Cool bird house among the Clematis.

Room in our Hearts...

It's true, there is always room in our hearts for one more to snuggle, hold, cherish and love. We are so thankful and blessed to have little Miss Ashelyn in our family.

24 Hours Old...

I thought this was the sweetest picture of Jacob and Ashelyn... Jake looks so taken with her and so tender. He is such a good father.
I love this family shot! Daddy is helping Ashelyn hold Gideon's finger. Gid thinks she is pretty awesome.
Another tender family moment. Such a sweet, sweet big brother. I actually caught the kiss this time. I kept missing it and it needed to be captured.
Misty and Ashelyn looking beautiful. Ashelyn was a little mad as you can see... she thought it was time to eat, not stop for pictures.

Before...

No one should look this good 4 days before delivering! She looked so cute pregnant. I don't care what she said. I am so totally busted, Misty is going to get me, but she looked too dang cute.

Announcing... Ashelyn Ann Doan

Yeah, yeah... She is finally here! Ashelyn Ann Doan, born at 3:01 CST on June 19, 2008. Ashelyn weighed 7 lbs 14.2 oz and was 21 1/4 inches long. She looks so much like her big brother Gideon except she has dark curly hair.
Doesn't she look precious! We think she is so beautiful... nope we are not prejudice at all.
Here is a sweet shot of a proud big brother holding Miss Ashelyn. Gid sure thought she was pretty neat. He did not like it at all when the nurse made her cry. That was certainly not ok.
Misty looked radiant and beautiful and not at all like she had just been through labor. She is amazing! More pictures later, but needless to say we are all thrilled and thankful for our precious blessings.
