Easter Storm…

Sunday dawned a beautiful sunny gorgeous day… as Easter Sunday should. In fact, it was one of the prettiest Easters in a long time. Late in the afternoon the clouds began to roll in… what came next was one of the loudest thunderstorms in some time. It brought crazy winds and many areas enjoyed golf ball sized hail also… we lucked out on Sunday’s storm, but not so much on Tuesday Evening’s (BUMMER).

Here is a picture I captured right as the rain stopped. Isn’t it just beautiful. It makes me think of Christ ascending in to Heaven.

100_9700 This is the Rainbow I captured when I looked out the other direction… How cool is that?

100_9714 Another shot of the Son… I mean Sun peaking through the clouds. I loved it!

And this is the picture of the guy who wanted to meet Jesus. He was up there flying in the middle of the Thunderstorm… Brent says he was trying to fly above the storm… CRAZY!!!

Tuesday Evening's Crazy Weather...

So Tuesday evenings weather was certainly crazy. (That was the night BJ's and Mark's Firework Tent got hit by Lightning with them in it) Right before the thunderstorms rolled in the Sky was absolutely beautiful. There was so many colors. Someone once told me that was the dust particles that make it so pretty, but whatever, it was awesome.
Then the sky started to go real dark. I liked this shot, you can still see the color and the Tree looks awesome.
Here is where the clouds were really starting to roll in. At this point they were still kinda light and fluffy and really quite pretty.
Dun, dun, dun, dunnnnn, Dun, dun, dun, dunnnnn... and then all heck broke loose... cool shot tho'... about at this point when lightning started going everywhere... I decided maybe I should be inside... instead of standing out in the yard to get the cool shots... maybe a wise choice... don't ya think? Anyway Tuesday evening made for some pretty interesting pictures.... all taken within twenty minutes of one another.

With Spring Comes...

Apparently destruction and rebirth...
Luckily the destruction in our case is very minor and the rebirth will be glorious... I love all the new blooms and new leaves and plants and baby animals... oh and best of all.... New Grandbaby! yeah, yeah!!!

Please Note...

Although I am a fan of thunder storms and have always loved to watch their displays... I AM NOT A FAN OF WIND!!!! I actually hate hearing the wind (ps... not a gentle breeze through the trees, but the howling kind)... not such a good thing since we sit at the top of a hill in Clay County Missouri where it is always at least a little windy. But seriously... can it just calm down for a little while. It actually makes me feel very anxious... don't know why, just does... of course yesterday morning at 2'ish it was perfectly reasonable to be anxious... I was pretty sure our house was going to fall down around us... it was insane! Wind screaming and whistling through every nook and cranny... sounded like a freight train... CRAZY!

But all is well except for some wind damage to the roof and no more Purple Martin Swiss Chalet... yup that's right, there might have been a Birdie fatality or two... it was pretty much smashed to smithereens... we always thought the post it was attached to would snap, we've watched it be whipped fiercely to and fro... but no... the post is still standing... doesn't look near as lovely with the Swiss Chalet missing tho'

oh well.... all things considered... We were very lucky and blessed... if a little frightened and shook up.
