I'm Pathetic...

I promise... I got out the cake mix with every intention of making Brent a Funfetti Cake... next thing I know he's in there mixing it up himself... He's something else... so I sprayed the pan with pam and stuck it in the oven... does that count as helping at least? I'm a bad, bad Wife.... Bj is a much better wife than me. He loves the whole cooking thing... just look at his happy little face... gosh I LOVE Him!

I might have been taking these pictures when Brent started on the cake... that makes it my fault doesn't it? Dang it! I was sharing some almonds and Craisens with Kiwi... she LOVES them!

Lovin' Me Some G'Baby Time...

So Misty and the sweet babies came by for a visit between conference sessions today! We sure missed them while they were out in Utah visiting. It was only a week, but I'm tellin' you it seemed like forever! They are such a joy and give the sweetest hugs and kisses. Love, Love, Love my babies and my sweet Misty for just being her. What a good mommy she is. Little Miss Ashe is getting to be such a big girl and just look at our handsome Gidman... good times.

Happy Birthday Uncle David!!!

Here is the family present to help Uncle David celebrate his 92nd Birthday. (except me... I took the picture) I think they're a pretty good looking crew if I do say so myself.
I thought this was a sweet shot of Bj, Alex and Uncle David. Uncle David looks pretty dang good for 92... we could only be so lucky... especially when you take into consideration he just under went his second surgery in barely a year. He had a hip replacement for Lynn's birthday last year and a knee replacement for Lynn's birthday this year... not kidding at all... she spent the last two birthday's in the hospital taking care of her daddy... props to you Auntie Lynn... and happy belated birthday to you to.

Polar Bear Plunge for Special Olympics...

Sorry it has taken me so long to get these posted. Here are a few of the fun shots from the Polar Bear Plunge for Special Olympics.

This was a parade of the costumes people wore for the plunge... note BJ's fine garb... crazy man! I especially like the shot where it looks like he's getting ready to strike down the polar bear.

I loved the water shots. I was right down on the edge of the water and got to take all the pictures for Gregg & Bj's Website. It was way fun... I didn't even get wet which was pretty much amazing.

I thought the little couple in the middle shot were just too cute. The St. Joseph chapter of Special Olympics raised close to $19,000.00 with this event. It was great to be even just a small part of it. We were honored to contribute on behalf of Greg Smith. I'm sure he was smiling down and laughing at all the silly crowd. Renee says he loved being able to participate in the Special Olympics so that made it even better.

ps... It turned out to be 70 degrees on the day of the plunge. The ice melted off the lake the day before the event. How's that for some luck? BJ says he thinks he will take a less active role in the event next year... ie... not entering the water... he's pretty sure the weather will not cooperate two years in a row and he can see where the worst part would be getting out of the water to frigid gusting winds... It really was a beautiful day.

So Grandpa was flyin' on the Wii... Gideon plopped down next to him and joined right in. You can tell he was really in to it. Funny little man.

My Thankful Thursdays...

So I am thankful for getting to spend Thursdays with Misty and the grandbabies. Gotta love the quality snuggle time. You can see in the upper left shot Miss Ashelyn is trying to escape. Oh... check out Gid sporting Grandma's jewelry... He thought he was something else...

Couple of handsome men... I know it will make Jake cringe when he sees these shots... but Gid was so funny... he wanted to wear them... made us put them back on every time one fell off his ear... silly boy

Here he is looking at mommy's set and thinking he wanted to try hers on... she was patiently explaining to the Gidster that boys don't wear jewelry... well at least not most boys... he thinks they look pretty neat tho.

Here Gid is watching Mommy and Uncle Alex play the Wii... We couldn't tell if he looked bored or enthralled... I wish the shot had turned out of Misty trying to play baseball... FUNNY... she stinks big time... now tennis was another story... she kicked Alex's booty... fun, fun evening for all... I got to snuggle Miss Ashelyn to sleep... good times!

Family fun...

Here are a few more shots of the family... the shot in the upper right hand corner was taken the other night when Brent's Mom's uncle David was over. He was so happy to get to hold Miss Ashelyn. I love the shot of Brent and Gideon... They looked so handsome together. The shot on the bottom right of Tonya holding Ashelyn is very sweet also... this was the first time she got to see our little sweetie. I didn't get near enough pictures, but I really liked the few I did.

Handsome Men...

Here is a great shot of Brent and the boys with Brent's 91 year old Great Uncle David. Uncle David is Lynn's dad and has just moved back to Kansas City to live with her. Beleave it or not, he is recovering from hip replacement surgery and has done wonderfully. He is so sweet and always has a great story or two to share. The boys really enjoyed their time visiting with him. We will have to make a point of visiting with him and Lynn often.

Here are a few pretty pictures of Lynn's oasis in the city. She works so hard to keep it beautiful. She is my inspiration for making my yard a little nicer. I just have to parcel my time out in little bits and pieces. Every year it improves tho'.

I don't remember how many varieties of Hostas Lynn has but I know it's a bunch. Her entire yard is pretty much shaded so they thrive.

I just thought this made for a neat shot.... had to throw it in as well. Cool bird house among the Clematis.

My Softy...

So pretty much BJ is just a big old softy. Here he is with the brats, Dueter and Zoe'. They have to race to see who is the first to get to dad, growling all the while. You'd think they were so vicious if you heard them. Sometimes he will have all three dogs and the cat on his lap at the same time.... this is the same man that says, "I hate animals". Yeah right. Anywho, I love my big old softy. This picture really brings home how sweet he really can be.
