It's Really Early...

My face is shiny... oh, and blotchy... I want you to look away now... you're really only supposed to be looking at the necklace anyway. I LOVE!!!!! it. So fun to make... even if a little time consuming.
This is what I made during my girl time with Misty. We had so much fun! Jake and Bj were working late, my big guys were at Kearney's first home football game, Gid was snuggled up watching 101 Dalmatians, Ashe was tuckered out and down for the count... puppy too, and that meant Misty and I got to play with beads. FUN, FUN, Fun!!! Misty made an absolutely gorgeous blue, teal, and green long necklace. It was to die for. I am hoping she blogs it... I didn't get a picture, she was scrambling to get it finished so that she could beat Jake home. Good times... don't get enough Momma and daughter time to craft. I think I might be making more of these for Christmas gifts... well that's if I can let loose of 'em. I want them all... bad sista.

Lovin' Me Some G'Baby Time...

So Misty and the sweet babies came by for a visit between conference sessions today! We sure missed them while they were out in Utah visiting. It was only a week, but I'm tellin' you it seemed like forever! They are such a joy and give the sweetest hugs and kisses. Love, Love, Love my babies and my sweet Misty for just being her. What a good mommy she is. Little Miss Ashe is getting to be such a big girl and just look at our handsome Gidman... good times.

My Thankful Thursdays...

So I am thankful for getting to spend Thursdays with Misty and the grandbabies. Gotta love the quality snuggle time. You can see in the upper left shot Miss Ashelyn is trying to escape. Oh... check out Gid sporting Grandma's jewelry... He thought he was something else...
Couple of handsome men... I know it will make Jake cringe when he sees these shots... but Gid was so funny... he wanted to wear them... made us put them back on every time one fell off his ear... silly boy
Here he is looking at mommy's set and thinking he wanted to try hers on... she was patiently explaining to the Gidster that boys don't wear jewelry... well at least not most boys... he thinks they look pretty neat tho.
Here Gid is watching Mommy and Uncle Alex play the Wii... We couldn't tell if he looked bored or enthralled... I wish the shot had turned out of Misty trying to play baseball... FUNNY... she stinks big time... now tennis was another story... she kicked Alex's booty... fun, fun evening for all... I got to snuggle Miss Ashelyn to sleep... good times!

Super Cute Hob Goblins...

So right after work I got to hurry to Misty & Jake's so I could see my super cute little hob goblins. They had to rush off to the yearly Halloween Party at the Doans. They looked so dang cute... I'm serious and no I am not prejudice... just look at them... Oh, and Gid and Ashelyn are pretty cute too... he he he.... just kidding. Gid totally looked like a little Eddy Munster and Ashe made a super sweet pixie or fairy... So thank you, thank you to Misty and Jake for waiting for me... I would have been very sad to miss seeing them.

Jeni Pics...

I loved this shot of our silly girls... They were so excited to see one another. I love how much Misty had sisters in all of her cousins. That brings my sweet sisters all so much closer.
Beautiful sisters, with momma peeking in the background.
Big brother, Hyrum, with the uber sexy return missionary... there is talk of a return missionary in AZ that has a thing for our beautiful return missionary... we'll see just how serious he is.
Tamra and her sweet girl. We were sure glad to be a part of her family home coming. We are all so proud of Miss Jeni.

Family Resemblance...

So there is no doubt that Misty's sweet babies look like their parents. I just had to show these pictures, this is what made Misty decide maybe they did resemble her a little. In the top shot Misty is about a month older then little Ashelyn, but I think you will see the family resemblance. Then in the bottom shot, I'm pretty sure it was taken around her 2nd birthday. Look at the face shape, smile, eye shape and little turned up nose.... Crazy! Although by this age Misty had already started to really slim down. I would love to get some old photos of Jacob also and do the same thing. So much fun.

ps... Didn't Misty make a cute little present? We all thought so... notice the tongue sticking out... what is that all about?

Found Family Fun...

Brent found these old pictures the other day!
I love them. You can tell all of the cousins
loved one another. It was great and the cool
thing is, they still do!

Here we have another photo. Hyrum was all
smiles. You can see Misty thought he was
something else, she had to keep an eye on him.

I loved this shot of Hyrum and Jeni.
They look so sweet together. What a duo.

Gettin' Some Lovin'

Gideon was soooo tired. All he needed was his teddy and grandma to rock him to sleep. He sure loves this scruffy little teddy. It's his very favorite. He will snuggle right up to it and go to sleep. He is such a sweet boy... He was gettin' some teddy lovin'.
Caught this really cute picture of Misty and Sweet Ashelyn... she sure looked like she had something to say. Misty gettin' some Ashelyn Lovin'.
Misty just loves to sit and look at her. I thought it was so fun... here I was sitting and watching my baby, watching her baby... huh, who woulda thunk it? My good friend Anita said once I have grandchildren in the multiples that means I'm getting old. I say if this is what getting old is, I'll take it. I like the perks.
After I had snuggled with Gid and got him all settled down for his nap I got to sneak a kiss from Miss Ashelyn. She is such a pretty little thing. We sure are enjoying both of our sweet babies. Gotta love the baby lovin'.

Jake and Misty's Family...

I just had to do this comparison... I know... your thinkin' "we can't even see the babies"... but that's not what I was seeing... Misty and Jacob just keep getting better and better looking... that is just crazy... I think family life is doing it... We sure love them and their sweet babies. ps... pics on the right are Gid's Birth.

Happy to be home...

The Doan family are now reunited and happy to be in their own home. Gideon has been such a good boy while waiting for Mommy, Daddy, & baby Ashelyn to get home. He only gave me one really good scare when he forgot to let go of the rock he was throwing in the ornamental fish pond and threw himself in instead. Good news is grandma walked on water... literally... to grab him out... It scared me more than him. All is well, he didn't seemed phased... glad to be home with fam tho'.

24 Hours Old...

I thought this was the sweetest picture of Jacob and Ashelyn... Jake looks so taken with her and so tender. He is such a good father.
I love this family shot! Daddy is helping Ashelyn hold Gideon's finger. Gid thinks she is pretty awesome.
Another tender family moment. Such a sweet, sweet big brother. I actually caught the kiss this time. I kept missing it and it needed to be captured.
Misty and Ashelyn looking beautiful. Ashelyn was a little mad as you can see... she thought it was time to eat, not stop for pictures.

Before...

No one should look this good 4 days before delivering! She looked so cute pregnant. I don't care what she said. I am so totally busted, Misty is going to get me, but she looked too dang cute.

Announcing... Ashelyn Ann Doan

Yeah, yeah... She is finally here! Ashelyn Ann Doan, born at 3:01 CST on June 19, 2008. Ashelyn weighed 7 lbs 14.2 oz and was 21 1/4 inches long. She looks so much like her big brother Gideon except she has dark curly hair.
Doesn't she look precious! We think she is so beautiful... nope we are not prejudice at all.
Here is a sweet shot of a proud big brother holding Miss Ashelyn. Gid sure thought she was pretty neat. He did not like it at all when the nurse made her cry. That was certainly not ok.
Misty looked radiant and beautiful and not at all like she had just been through labor. She is amazing! More pictures later, but needless to say we are all thrilled and thankful for our precious blessings.

Halloween Craziness...

I couldn't resist adding a few more pumpkin pictures. As you can see, Jake, Misty, and Gid had a perfectly enjoyable evening carving pumpkins. Super cute family! But... who ever heard of eating raw pumpkin? Not me, and I guarantee you my children would have run screaming if asked to taste it. It took an act of congress to get them to taste roasted pumpkin seeds and they're awesome. Gid did seem to love it as his Mommy's pictures have shown. What a nut job. But he is our little nut job and we sure love him. How could you not love this little cutie pie?

Here is one of the photos Grandpa took of our little hobgoblins just before they left for the evenings festivities at the Doan house. Don't they look cute? Gid is a little monkey and that is certainly fitting... I mean his favorite food is bananas after all... and if it can be climbed I'm pretty sure he will try. Misty is supposed to be some type of circus clown... makeup was never completed before she left... I think she is a punker clown... yeah, that's the ticket. She looked awfully cute also.... and I'm not prejudice at all.... I love all my babies, big and little.

Jadie and Her Posse...

Made it back from our marathon Utah trip.
Loved this shot... Jade is a nut and so is her posse.
I thought this was such a sweet picture.
I sure love these girls and of course my Gid too!

What can I say???

So I love taking pictures of my Misty's family. So shoot me... jk... Lucky for me, they indulge me. I love the shots of the three of them on Misty's new bed, even if the one is a bit unfocused. (I think I'm calling it artsy, yah... that's the ticket.) We thought Gid looked like quite the little man in his warm up suit that Miss Teresa got him. Jake thought he looked like a dork... can he say that? I don't think so.

You can tell little pea is not feeling great in these pictures. I think his teeth were giving him fits. He now has some little buds on the top as well as the two teeth on the bottom. Poor thing gets his teeth in twos and threes like his momma did.

Kinda funny...

Found this picture... made me smile.
They have always been cute together.
I know it may be difficult to believe, but it is Misty chasing Jake,
not the other way around.
She had a thing for this cute, funny drummer.

First photo is prior to Jake's Mission and the Second photo is just after Jake's return. (pretty sure)

From Pacifiers to Motherhood...

What a beautiful, sweet baby she was... I was so thrilled, excited, and terrified to take her home.

I was even more thrilled, excited, and terrified for her on her wedding day. Thrilled and excited for all the adventures and wonders she and Jacob were about to begin in their new life together. Terrified with the fact that this meant I was getting old, a mother-in-law no less.

Then there came the real moment of truth... My sweet baby was about to become a mother for the first time... Yes, I was thrilled, excited, and terrified once again. I knew that she would be a wonderful mother... once she made it past fourteen, when I wasn't even sure she would make it to adulthood, she turned in to the wonderful daughter, wife, and mother she became that day. So I was thrilled and excited for the new adventures and wonders she and Jacob were beginning. And you know what other then being a little terrified of my sweet baby going through labor... you know terrible things can happen when you go through labor... even though I managed it... it wasn't quite the same when it's my little girl... but I have to say the grand-mother part has been a breeze.

So pretty much my daughter has filled my life with thrills, excitement, and terror. I wouldn't have it any other way. I love you and your brothers more than life itself. Happy 21st Birthday!
