This silly little bird. Everytime you open the door to Zach's room, Kiwi flies from her perch on her cage to your head or you shoulder. The shoulder is much preferred. Of course if she's on your shoulder, your earrings are fair game... she thinks they're a toy. If you don't have any earrings she might just nibble on your neck. She likes to give kisses, she's in to doing hair. Oh, and Gid thinks she is pretty neat as long as she's on you and doesn't attempt to land on him.Saturday, June 6, 2009

For Gideon...
He really was spry,
and thought he could fly.
Tho you might debate,
man he could skate,
with never a tear or a cry.
I need a new picture of my little man skating... hint, hint Mommy.

What I Did On My Summer Vacation Give-Away...
Kashmir IV charm pack by Sentimental Studios for Moda... when I started I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them... I'd done pinwheels... needed something new... sew, I mean so, this is what I came up with. My son, Zach, gave it two thumbs up... He likes the paisley prints especially. Who'da thunk it? You never know with my boys.ps... Natalie help me out here. Didn't you make a quilt with a similar pattern to this. I would swear... not really... anyway I sure thought that's where I saw it. You know me... no pattern necessary as long as I've seen something similar... so, did you or didn't you? hmmmm?
As for the title... tell me what you did over the weekend... kinda like the first week of school as a child when we had to write the dreaded report... What I Did on My Summer Vacation... ok, now it's your turn...Ps... Did I mention "Give-Away?" What? No! you say. Comment to enter... post about and then comment again to let me know for two extra chances. A chicken wire planter or the table runner above (upon completion) will be the prize of choice, the planter will be minus dirt and flowers... it would be rather messy to ship... ps... Make sure I have a way to contact you.
I will draw one lucky winner on Saturday, June 6th @ 10:30 p.m. CST... hurry up and get entered.

To Sash or Not to Sash...
Then the question became...
should I add the turquoise blocks?
I went with... Nope...
I just couldn't make it look right.
I'm making a queen size quilt with the 16 blocks above.
After a 9 inch border it will measure 90 inches square...
WAY, WAY Excited!
It measures 38 inches square before borders.
It will be a very nice size once I add the 4 inch borders.
Off to MO Star Quilt Company tomorrow
for border fabric and a new project.
I'm lovin' me some quilting...
Even if I go with the way easy peasy patterns.
